Tonight Cinic play our fourth gig and it will also be our first taste of the festival experience as we’re performing at Monofest 3 in Chorlton, Manchester. We’re performing on the downstairs stage, so it will also be our first experience of a multi stage event.
We will be on stage at 8pm, by which time I expect the venue to be filling up and hopefully people will have been getting into the bank holiday spirit and will be suitably oiled to think we’re fantastic…which we are, of course.
It is still quite exciting to see our name on flyers and tickets, and this time we have had our band name spelt correctly.
Pete has had a load of business cards made. I’m not entirely sure how well these will be put to use, but so far I’ve distributed one and that was to my fiancée. I think that as we try to build a following, especially when people could have watched twenty bands or more, that something to remember us by can only be a good thing.
So with my garden decking project almost completed, and a belly full of lasagne, I shall venture forth in a little while to what will hopefully be a successful evening. Whatever happens it all about the experience and the exposure, right? That’s a line I keep rolling out and after gigs like the one a fortnight ago it is just as relevant than after a successful gig. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s event and I hope we are well received.
